Qamar Mahmood currently resides in Melbourne, Australia, where he practices homeopathy full-time. He is a board member of the Australian Register of Homoeopaths (AROH) and also a professional member of the Australian Homoeopathic Association.
Qamar holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Homoeopathy from the University of Central Lancashire (2005), and has accreditations from the Royal Society of Health (UK) and the Society of Homeopaths (UK). He is also an Associate Member of Faculty of Homoeopathy (UK). He holds an M.D in Alternative Medicine from International University for Complementary Medicine, Colombo, Sri Lanka – Pakistan Campus (1997), where he topped as gold medallist in clinical work.
Born in 1971, Qamar received his primary and secondary education in Karachi, Pakistan. He earned his D.H.M.S in 1994 from Pakistan Central Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Karachi. Following his father's death, he and his elder brother took over Mansoora Homoeo Clinic. He went on to earn an M.Sc in Microbiology from the University of Karachi, Pakistan (1995).
From 1998 to 2009, he was a full-time faculty member at Pakistan Central Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital. He was also instrumental in setting up Imrooz Institute of Homeopathy (IIH) in Karachi in 2011, and continues to advise the team and consult for IIH patients.
Qamar is passionate about continuous learning and actively participates in conferences, seminars and workshops in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England and Australia.

Homeopathy is based on the observation that substances that are capable of causing disorders of the mind or body in healthy people can be used in dilute form as medicines to treat similar disorders in someone who is ill, whatever the cause of the illness. The action of homeopathic medicines is to enable the natural self-regulating mechanisms in the mind and body to function more efficiently, and to mobilise and reinforce the healing resources which already naturally exist. Everyone can treat simple common acute conditions by self-prescribing homeopathic medicines. These can be single homeopathic medicines — with the aid of a homeopathic handbook — or, more easily, with 'combination medicines' or 'complex medicines'. The latter contain several different homeopathic medicines most commonly prescribed for specific conditions. The treatment of chronic illness, as well as more serious acute illness, however, requires the assistance of an experienced practitioner with specific training in homeopathy.
